MAIL UPDATE
if/ hopefully when people send me things, can you write Affaticati Family and then underneath write Attn: Jessica Kuh. because when the mailman comes to the building, we don't have our own address number like they do in the states, #5 is the building number, so he puts in the boxes according to last name. hopefully this will work, if not we have to figure out another way. thanks so much!! i miss you all!! Ciao, Jess

Hi Jessica,
When I saw that you saw a hummer, of course I thought you were talking about a humming bird!
We found that if we zoom in on your blog, it is SOOOO much easier to read!
We are in the process of closing down the cottage. Boats are out.
Going to visit Edward in Boston this weekend.
It's weird writing and knowing that everyone else is reading this. Did you get our e-mail?
Love and hugs,
Gma and Poppa Kuh
Maybe the mail problems are related to an Amerigo Vespucci consipracy? Don't believe them! Everyone knows that Christopher Columbus discovered America.
"Since 2000 the Italian postal system has undergone large-scale changes. It is no longer a state-owned monopoly, although the government still owns the majority. The service is managed by Poste Italiane. Services include mailing letters and parcels, banking and financial services, and managing certain local administrative matters. Poste Italiane has services catering specifically to small business."
"There is a specific way to write an Italian address. The surname (family name) is usually written before the Christian/first name and the house/building number comes after the street name. As many buildings in Italy are apartment buildings make sure that the post box has the correct name on it.
The postal code is written before the town name and the two-figure province code is written at the end of the line in brackets.
