Hopefully my bank problems will be solved tomorrow...
Hey everybody! sorry its been a few days, but i just decided to compile them into one blog, becuase they haven't been all that eventful. So i got to watch gossip girl again on youtube, it was awesome! I cannot wait for next week. I saw a hummer today. i was verryyy surprised to see it, becuase almost all of the other cars are very very tiny. Artemio comes home tonight, but just for the night because tomorrow night he leaves for Japan and China. Tomorrow morning we are leaving for Verona, really early. We might be possibly taking the train, but i'm not sure. And i got a really cute pair of shoes today, becuase my converse are wearing down quickly, since i'm doing so much walking. They're kind of like converse, but plaid. I'll take a picture. And i'm still working on the picture thing, hopefully i'll have that figured out by next week, but i have to tackle the bank thing first. So what was happening was that we couldn't find a 'Plus' ATM (Which is the one that takes my card) then once we found them they were all saying, You can't use your card for international transactions. So then today i was getting really frustruated and i called national city, using my calling card. and it took like 10 minutes to finally get a hold of someone, and i was really really mad at this point, beucase my calling card is running out. so the guy was super nice and told me that maybe the reason why it wasn't working is because in the first 30 days of opening an account you can't withdraw more than 100 dollars. and i was trying to get 150 euro out, so i bet thats why. and i really hope thats why, otherwise it will be an ongoing hassle. But i didn't even think to try a smaller amount, (stubborn, much??) i thought that maybe it was the pin. becuase in the US we use a 4 digit pin and here they use 5. so hopefully my card works. and My 30th day was today, so i'm hoping tomorrow it will work! This week was fairly uneventful besides that. This same kid keeps coming into our class and writing morbid italian sayings on the board during break. i think he goes to the classic school (becuase i go to the linguistic one and both schools are in the same building). But the first quote was ' Coloro che si prenpono gioco della'vita non vengono purificati dalla morte.' which is something along the lines of those who make a joke of life won't be purified when they die. Creepy, right. this is the kid who came in that one day and wrote BANG! on the board. and today's was ' fa che il tuo si sia si, eche il tuo no sia no.' which means when you say yes, it means yes and when you say no it means no. Not as morbid, but really random. Today when i was not paying attention in Chemistry, becuase i cannot follow the teacher at all, i decided what i want to do with my life. Well for today, it might be different tomorrow..but here it is. I want to come home and do senior year, then go to college and major in english education and minor in italian. Then do another year or semester here during college. and while I'm ehre for the second time i want to find an apartment in a town and a job (hopefully!!) teaching english at a school. So then i can come home and spend that last summer in the states while i get my dual citizenship, and then come live here. It most likely won't happen like that, but it would be nice. (Sorry mom and dad?!?!) So for science i had to do that summary thing and she didn't collect anyones. like didn't even look at them or anything. i was like WHHHATT? so that was weird. And yesterday during science Guilia and i colored the pictures in my dictionary, becuase i was sick of studying italian. So i thought i knew what was going on in math, then i got home to do the homework and had no clue what i was doing. And my math teacher is a guy, the only guy teacher we have besides our english conversation teacher who is british and old and soo funny. But my math teacher reminds me of Grossman and Mr. Vick combined, he's super cool. But he speaks like no english, (he's the one that said you ka- no this already Jessica?) so he attempted to help me, but i got even more confused. so one of the girls ended up helping me, and he made me go up to the board a do a problem. it actually wasn't a hard one, so i got lucky, but i was still nervous. And my history teacher is still as crazy as ever, i think i might take a video of her attempting to translate for me so i can put it up here, its hilarous. I feel bad laughing, becuase its nice of her to try, but she speaks maybe 12 words of english. and the message she attempts to help me understand is very confusing. i think i have the same thing written for the 3 past philosophy lessons. but atleast she tries. I went a made a photocopy by myself yesterday, which was an experience becuase the people that are like aid's around the school wear these red lab coats, and i don't think any of them speak english. So the one man, he was very nice to me, thankfully. and he spoke slowly and told me my italian was improving, becuase i met him on my first day of school. And he remembered my name, which i was surprised about because everyone just calls me 'The American.' I think i am addicted to ironing, which is bizarre becuase i never did it at home. but since we don't have a dryer, everything gets all wrinkly when it air dries, so i iron all of my clothes that come from outside (even though daniela has a lady taht comes to do it, but the lady isn't all taht good, and i enjoy it so its okay.) and i iron my clothes for the next day everynight. its very weird, cause i'm not the cleaning and ironing type, but i've been doing a lot of both things here. (again, sorry mommy...) Today we had religion, and i get to leave to study italian, and a few other girls leave too. i'm not allowed to leave the school, but they are. so 2 of them went and got us pizza from this bakery called colombo, its like 30 seconds from the school, while the girl that totally reminds me of Devin Safranek, her name is sylvia and i hung out. then we got the pizza and the 4 of us just sat in the hallway and talked, we worked on my italian a bit, but they wanted to practice their english. and they had a lot of questions about the states. and i had my camera, so i showed them some more pictures taht i didn't bring hard copies of. they thought indi was soo cute and the one girl goes 'awee what race is your dog??' i was like race? what? but i guess in italian when they talk about breeds they say say a word that sounds like and means race. becuase tehy use race instead of breed, but it was still really funny. Then i came home and we all had lunch together, minus Lucia who had to stay an afternoon at school (like every friday) and plus grandma who i can semi talk to now. we're making progress. then letizia and i hung out and went shopping for all the things i needed (wallet, shoes and notebooks). then daniela and i ran around attemtping to find a bank. But artemio just got home and we're about to eat, so i'll write on sunday hopefully, letting you know how verona is. have a great homecoming weekend rockettes, i miss you all!! hope everyone is doing well!!! ciao, Jess
